00:00 I am at Whole Foods trying to buy gum. Let me show you what I found.
00:03 Okay, so I picked up Pure. Whole Foods carries it and it looks clean, but look at the ingredients.
00:09 Gum base. That's what it says, gum base, which sounds fine until you find out the conventional
00:15 gum base is polyvinyl acetate, a plastic polymer, which is the same stuff that's in glue.
00:21 So back it goes. Okay, so this is Simply Gum. It's the only nationally distributed gum at
00:27 Whole Foods with a plastic-free gum base. They use Chickle, which is a natural tree sap,
00:32 and if you look at the ingredient list, you can actually read it.
00:35 I just think we should know what's in what we chew.
